Forecast Lighting was founded in Southern California in the early 1970s. From the very beginning, Forecast focused on developing distinctive contemporary lighting designs, developed with the benefit of continual customer feedback as well as a careful analysis of the home décor trends of the day.
In 1992, Lightolier acquired Forecast and relocated the company to its current headquarters in Elgin, IL. In 2010, the Forecast Lighting line became part of Philips Consumer Luminaires, a business unit of Philips North America. The business unit continues to house customer service, sales, and warehousing in the Elgin, IL facility. In addition, Philips Consumer Luminaires maintains a trade-only showroom in the Dallas Market Center.
Four decades after Forecast’s founding, we continue to build on a unique legacy of a customer-focused brand delivering exceptionally well-styled products at attractive prices. We have pioneered many breakthrough concepts, from coordinated glass to implementing LED light sources in designer fixtures. Our in-house design team travels the world to identify materials and trends that we can bring to light, and we are proud to say that a Forecast fixture clearly stands out in a crowded, often “me-too” marketplace.
Today, we market Forecast products in both the residential lighting showroom market as well as the commercial segment. We offer a wide range of products for both interior and exterior applications including many Energy Smart options. In the past four years, we have introduced over 650 new products!
